Professor Zhao, Jialiang, MD, PhD, has worked in ophthalmology for almost 40 years. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College, PUMC in 1970. He obtained his master degree in 1981. He has studied overseas for more than four years in National Institutes of Health, American Institute of Ophthalmology, University of Southern California, Doheny Eye Institute and Nagoya's Hospital. 

Professor Zhao,Jialiang has served as director of Chinese Academy of Medical Science Rearch Center since 2001. He also servered as director of ophthalmology in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 2002—2005. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, publishing more than 150 academic paper. He is also as an in-depth understanding of ophthalmia. 
  • Member of the 6th Committee of the Ophthalmology society of the Chinese medical association since 1996 
  • Chairman of both 7th and 8th Commimittee of  the Ophthalmology society of the Chinese medical association and head of the group of anti - blindness. 
  • Vice - president of Rehabilitation association of China disabled people's Federation since 2003

  • Asia-Pacific cataract refractive surgery outstanding achievement award in 2002.
  • The Helmes award for Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in 2003.
  • China opthalmology outstanding achievement award in 2005.
  • Arthur Lim Award for Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in 2007.

  • The golden apple award of the American academy of ophthalmology in 2008.
